Liquid CO2 (LCO2) excels at cleaning parts, particularly those with complex geometries. Traditional cleaning methods use aqueous or water-based solutions combined with solvents, but these methods often fall short when it comes to removing contaminants that water can’t address.
In contrast, LCO2, with its extremely low viscosity, can effortlessly penetrate tiny crevices and cover surfaces without leaving any residue. When CO2 is pressurized in specialized cleaning vessels, it stays in a liquid state. This allows LCO2 to rinse and clean parts effectively by bonding with contaminants and extracting them from the surfaces.
After cleaning, any remaining CO2 evaporates, leaving the part dry and spotless. The process operates in a closed-loop system, recycling and reusing CO2 for further cleaning cycles, which reduces waste and improves cleaning efficiency.
